What is Baptism?

Baptism is simply defined as the outward act of an inward change. Destiny Church follows the model laid out by Jesus, which is recorded in the New Testament Gospels, as well as by the Church in Acts. See our core beliefs.

Why Baptism?

  1. To follow the example set by Christ.
“At that time Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan.” (Mark 1:9)
  2. Because Christ commanded it.
“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matthew 28:19–20)
  3. It demonstrates I am a Believer.
“We know that we have come to know him if we obey his commands.” (1 John 2:3)

Register for Baptism

Upon submission of this confidential application form, a pastor will follow up with you to discuss with you why you desire to be baptized and to confirm the information on your application. This information will be used to process your water baptism application and to issue you a certificate after your baptism event.

An important part of baptism is a public profession of your decision and how you came to that decision. You will be asked to verbally share your profession of faith with the congregation; this act allows your church family to celebrate this important decision with you. It’s a good idea to write up your story in preparation for this celebration.

Please feel free to contact the church office with any questions or concerns you have about baptism!
