Here we are once again. The time of year where we remember that horrific day of the terrorist attacks on our country on Sept. 11th, 2001. It’s so hard to believe that this is the 12th anniversary of that fateful day. Do you remember what you were doing when you first heard the news of this terrible event?
On this Anniversary, be sure to check out this amazing 911 story, of Sujo John, a survivor of the Twin Tower attacks. Let this true story encourage you as Sujo gives testimony of God’s amazing victory and grace in the midst of disaster.
Some of you today may feel like you are going through a 911 day of your own. You’ve had difficulties and attacks come your way that you never saw coming. It’s so easy during those times to look around and see only despair. But it’s during these times that we must remember that we can call on the God of HOPE to be our rescuer in the midst of a storm. I love how the Psalmist puts it, (Psalm 46:1-2 NLT) “God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble. So we will not fear when earthquakes come and the mountains crumble into the sea.” Today, whatever you are going through, let God be your “refuge and strength.” During this Anniversary, I also ask that you take a time out of your day to pray for the families of these victims who still carry the weight of this tragedy on their hearts. Pray that they will discover a loving God who’s there for them always, to comfort them through this storm. Last of all, pray for our country. (2 Chronicles 7:14) It seems that we need Him more than ever.
