As you know, a massive EF-5 tornado struck Moore, Oklahoma, on May 20, killing 24 people and destroying homes, schools and businesses.

Immediately after the tornado passed, Convoy of Hope had an assessment team on the ground to prepare for a full-scale response effort that continues to this day. Already, 24 tractor-trailers of food, water and supplies are in Moore. Convoy also deployed nearly 1,000 volunteers who have spent 6,000 hours working alongside the disaster response teams doing food distribution and debris removal.

Convoy of Hope President, Hal Donaldson, gives a brief video update on the relief efforts in Moore. The video can be viewed and downloaded here.

Thank you to all our churches that have already sent offerings for this need. By affording your congregation the opportunity this Sunday to designate a gift for the relief efforts in Oklahoma, you can help Convoy continue to deliver much-needed food, water and other resources to the Moore area. Designate your gift to AG Giving, Project: Oklahoma Disaster Relief. All donations will be sent to Convoy of Hope. By giving funds through the General Council, your church will receive AG Total Giving Credit.

Please continue to pray that God will comfort those who have experienced such great loss and strengthen our AG churches in Oklahoma who are reaching out to represent the physical presence of God’s love.

Thank you for anything you can do to help.

For Christ and His Kingdom,

George O. Wood
General Superintendent
