Our Christmas tree at night.“Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people. The Savior—yes, the Messiah, the Lord—has been born today in Bethlehem, the city of David! – Luke 2:10-11

When the angels gave their declaration to the shepherds in the field on that first Christmas night, their message was that a change was coming that would impact the world. The God of the universe came to earth in the form of a man to reveal His love through His life and sacrifice. “The Savior—yes, the Messiah, the Lord…”

Yes, Christmas is about CHANGE!  God changed the dynamics of how we viewed and had relationship with Him. Instead of following duties filled with religion, God revealed himself to us so that we can truly know Him in relationship as Lord and Savior. Yes, the day Christ was born changed the world.

And therefore, change is a big reason we celebrate Christmas. On a personal level, I celebrate Christmas because of the change He has done in me. Since I opened my heart to Him to be my Savior and Lord, He changed my life from the inside out.

This Christmas, God wants to do the same inside of you. This Christmas, as you sit with family and friends opening gifts, remember Christ’s reason for coming to this earth, to bring to you change you could never do on your own. Say a word of prayer and open your heart up to all that God wants to do inside of you and through you.

May this Christmas be the best Christmas yet!
