“Walking by faith is simply living as if God is who he says he is and that he will do everything he has promised to do.” – Andy Stanley
I read this quote the other week, and it’s been on my mind ever since. It’s a challenging statement because it causes me to really examine the foundations of my faith. Do I really believe that God is who He says He is, that He can do all that He says He can do? This question should challenge all of us to examine what we believe in our heart of hearts.
The next challenge, once resolved, is to live out what you say you believe. Even the apostle Paul says, “For we walk by faith, not by sight” (2 Corinthians 5:7). Living out our faith is a walk, a daily walk. It more than our words, but mostly found in our actions.
So, what say you? Are you walking by Faith or by Self? When you examine the two ways of walking, walking by faith offers a whole world of power and promise for those who choose this route. Let me encourage you, if you are tired and weary from the self-route you’ve been walking, give a walk with God a chance and see if you don’t notice the difference He makes.
